Here I have collected information about our leader and idol, Zaros. These information extracts are NOT written by me but by the website in the title. Please also note that I do not neccesarily agree with the information given here, it is directly quoted from its source, except the bottom one, labelled, "the truth". I wrote this, it is what I believe. RuneHQ Zaros is literally, pure evil. his power is even greater than guthix's, he came to runescape shortly after zamorak and saradomin arrived. In the first or second age of runescape, a crusade agaisnt zaros' evil was launched by the town that eventaully grew into varrock, and all traces of his existence were buried, or destroyed. Recently, evidence of zaros has been dug up in a digsite east of varrock. Based on evidence from the digsite, Zaros could return in the near future. Runescape Hall Until very recently, it was thought that the three primary gods were all the existed in RuneScape. However clear evidence of at least one additional deity has been found in the area west of Varrock. Zaros seems to be a Chaotic god like Zamorak, but his following was completely overrun by Saradomists and almost every trace of his religion destroyed. It is unknown if these gods still exist or if they are bound by the pact between Saradomin and Zamorak that places all power in the hands of the Mage Gower. Rune Village In beginning of time RuneScape was in chaos- then Saradomin was born and created life and pureness. Next Guthix was born and created great minds. Now someone of whom you have heard was born, Zaros. He created evil and darkness to go along with chaos. Finally Zamorak was born, and had nothing left all four brothers, three gods and one mortal.... Zamorak wanted evil and chaos. To achieve this, he killed Zaros. Zaros killed him as well.... Zamorak awoke as a God. The Truth: There was only Guthix in the begining, and he created runescape. Then came along another 20 or so Gods, including Zaros, Zammorak, Saradomin and Armadyl ( who in case you don't know is Zaros' opposing God.) Zaros, being evil and all, slowly destroyed most of the Gods, taking their powers as he did so. Noone is too sure what happened to Armadyl, although (he/she???) still has followers located in the temple of Ivok (Armadyl druids). A great war was fought to destroy Zaros and all who followed him, and the wilderness is probably the result of this devastation. Anyway, after Zaros was greatly weakend by Guthix, Saradomin and possibly Armadyl he was attacked by Zammorak, who it would appear got lucky, and won. He did not destroy Zaros however, he merely weakend him, and now Zaros roams Runescape in his seamingly mortal state (some say this is Lucien, I am not so sure.). |
